When I work with buyers, the quest is always the same...find the PERFECT house. No one ever does. Buying a beach house is always a series of compromises. There are only so many to choose from if you want to live on one of the nicest islands on the East Coast. So how do you know you found IT? Here are some clues that say you are in love with the beach house:
You feel possessive about it. After seeing so many houses, you get to know the market, and know that you found IT.
You start making excuses for the “flaws”. Ok..the access to the roof-top deck is not what you envisioned and the fifth bedroom is really a study, but it can all work!
You start assigning the bedrooms to family members. Go straight to contract when this happens.
Your kids and other members of the family tell you that you have hit a home run. That did it for me when I made the leap.
Remember, the PERFECT house does not exist!
