For those who like to think of themselves as uber-green, here are some great items to consider.
How about a flat-screen television that handles the usual entertainment chores, but also displays, on demand, a room-by-room measurement of the house’s energy consumption, linked to the home’s automation system, which also controls lighting and tracks energy usage.
OR, the Cybertecture Mirror in a master bath, which not only functions as your daily mirror, but at the click of a remote, doubles as a computer monitor that displays time, temp., traffic reports, and news.
Like those? How about a solar powered toothbrush, a couch with fabric made of recycled tires, and roll out solar panels that can be moved to track the sun?
All of these are on display at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.
