There have been a couple of articles recently written about safety issues surrounding vacant, bank owned property, where realtors are being lured into homes on the pretense of showing a home to an interested party, and then being assaulted or shot!
In certain parts of Florida, the Association of Realtors show re-enactments of true stories where realtors have been harmed or even killed, in hopes that realtors are aware of the dangers of their chosen profession.
“Safety has got to be a top priority, and there is no transaction in real estate that is more important than loss of life.” To correct the decision, Realtor Associations are letting their members know that it’s a personal decision to carry guns, and sees nothing wrong with it, as long as agents can protect themselves on the job.
While there is less of a risk selling bank owned property on LBI, packing heat could become accepted in fending off furious rental clients who report that their gas grill tank is empty.
